Sixers looking to add depth at guard

Gibson releases statement
NBA Daniel Gibson released the following statement after turning himself in to authorities Monday due to a battery charge based on an incident in New Orleans earlier this month. Gibson reportedly broke the jaw of another male during a confrontation.
"Earlier this month during the Essence Music Festival, I was involved in an incident with other individuals while I was out with my wife. ... It's unfortunate that some see opportunity in taking advantage of people who work hard for what they have achieved. ... Once all the facts of the incident come out, I expect to be fully vindicated."

Daniel Gibson turns himself in
Reports indicate that free agent G Daniel Gibson has turned himself in to the New Orleans Police Department following a charge of second degree assault and battery. The incident took place during the Essence Music Festival earlier this month.
