Maggette to retire?
The San Antonio Spurs have decided to waive 14 year veteran Corey Maggette. Maggette recently indicated that if he didn't make the Spurs roster, then he would retire from the NBA.

Maggette to retire?
San Antonio Spurs F Corey Maggette has indicated that if he's not able to make the Spurs regular season roster he will retire. Maggette signed with the Spurs weeks ago on a non-guaranteed contract.
"If I could get an opportunity here, it would be great," Maggette said. "If not, this game has been good to me.”

Corey Maggette Update
Veteran forward Corey Maggette has seen better days during his NBA career which started as a member of the Orlando Magic during the 1999/00 NBA season. Maggette joined the Detroit Pistons via trade during the off season but he hasn't seen any action since December 15th. Despite the lack of playing time and the lackluster record of Pistons, Maggette recently stated that he will not seek a buyout of his contract from the Pistons to play for a contender.

The Detroit Piston have traded guard Ben Gordon and a future 1st round draft pick to the Bobcats for guard/forward Corey Maggette.
