Martin talks not being signed

NBA free agent Kenyon Martin doesn't why he hasn't been able to catch on with a team thus far in this early part of the season and recently he discussed the situation with the media.
“There is a notion about me that is not accurate at all – I don’t know who started it or where it came from – that people can’t control me,” Martin told Yahoo! Sports. “I don’t understand. Have I had my issues like a lot of other people? Yeah. But I’m getting back that people think they can’t control me, that if I don’t play I’m going to explode, or I can turn a locker room.
“If someone calls me tomorrow, I don’t care who it is, whether it’s losing or winning at this point,” Martin said. “If someone calls me tomorrow and wants me to come in, I’m going. Guys are going down and [teams] are like, ‘Well, we are going to stick with what we got.’ I’m like, ‘Really?’ I started questioning myself, ‘Am I that bad of a guy?’
Always one of my favorite players. Hope he can find a team soon

ReplyDeleteThe NBA is changing. It is turning into a young mans game. Most teams aren't willing to pay the old players who are on the decline when they can bring in some young players with potential for less money. Its the same reason T-Mac and AI couldn't find teams. Teams are becoming more fond of youth and potential than experience and injuries. I still think this guy has a lot to offer though. I would kind of like to see Indiana pick him up, if they can get him cheap. David West also spends some time injured and even with West they could just use a small front court.

When free agency first started k mart wasnt willing to take the vets minimun, now he is since the season has started without him. But im sure if a big goes down on a contending team he will b the first guy they call. I do think the pacers could use him now tho, the bulls also

ReplyDeleteThe big man isn't being fazed out especially just taken on a different role big men are no longer expected to carry teams scoring wise but is more of a rebounder defender protecting the basket type of player n yea we got wade both lbj n ray Allen so what the difference between a winner n a looser is a winner always looks to improve their weaknesses. Bottom line is this every team that is a legitimate contender is stacked n their own way so it's not all about ya stars...ya starswill get you to the playoffs maybe even the finals but ya others win championships.... I hold basketball 101 classes tues. N thurs. Maybe u should sign up
ReplyDeleteI agree with you the big man is not fazing out they are just playing a different role than they did back the in day...they really dont play the back to the basket style anymore and bosh dropped 40 the other night playing center so id say hes doing pretty damn good....k mart would still be a good pick up for the heat or any contender
