Kevin Durant "My Time is now"

While in his hometown of Washington DC to promote his new film Thunderstruck, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant took the time to address something that has bothered him. He simply feels as if his time is now.
“I’ve heard a few times, in three or four years, this league is going to be yours. . . . I don’t like that. Because I think I’m established now. My time is now,” Durant said. “I feel as though I’ve proved myself these last five years that I can be one of the top players in the league. I’ve got a long way to go to being the ultimate best, but I think my time is now. And I’m starting to enter my prime.”

ReplyDeletePrime? He isn't gonna hit his prime for a while. Which is pretty fucking scary. I guarantee this Guy will retire top 10 in the alltime scoring list, and on the 3pt list as well. I still say the most complete offensive game belongs to melo, but its really close. To me, Durant is the best shooter in the league.

Yea it also showed n the playoffs where it really matters against lebron. Melo was kilin n that heat series with lebron on him. N the finals kd got his numbers but if u watch the games u would c lebron made kd ass disappear n crucial minutes. Every other day somebody is trashin melo on here. talkin bout he dont make his teammates better? They said the samething sbout mj b4 he won and kobe after shaq left. Wat yall need to realize is its not his job to pass and make people better. He gets buckets thats wat he do and as far as kd yea he the future but he dont even have a consistent post game! Delete@Jay, melo has a more complete offensive game than durant because melo is stronger and can post you up..Durant doesn't really have post game yet but durant is definately the more efficient scorer and shoots a higher percentage of the two which is why durant averages more points than melo

Yea and its easy 2 win a scoring title when u have kd's talent and only 2 other players on ya team who r scorers. I hate 2 knock kd but b honest the knicks won the same amount of games the thunder won against the heat n the playoffs and that 1 win was because of melo! I dont even think kd was the best player for okc n the finals but thats another debate
Delete@jay, durant definately stepped it up in the Olympics averaging 17 ppg but guess who else averaged 17 ppg while coming off the bench??? MELO!!! who set the record for most points in USA Olympic history with 37 points??? MELO!!! Melo is just as good an offensive player as durant is....like I said durant is just a bit more efficient...they are both questionable defenders so there's no advantage to either player in that category...not arguing just stating my opinion

Just because melo has a better post move dosent mean hes a better offensive player, durant has a better shooting percentage so it evens it out, but point period is that durant has won 3 scoring titles and the numbers speaks for them self, durant has had plenty of game winning shots more then melo, and that means hes the choice of offense, and yeah melo avg 16 ppg from the bench but they both pretty much played the same amount of minutes, and that game he score 37 against africa dosent say much, they won by 80 points, i bet if durant wanted he would of have a field day, melo is on the top 5 offensive players but not the top, and dont based someone skills on how good they do agains lebron, base it on the whole season, and btw, where was melo when durant was playing on the finals? DeleteYeah melo has a better low post but durant has a better shooting touch, better handle, more athletic, better on the open floor, better on the fast brake, can drive in at will when melo can bearly dunk and looks heavy,,and even tough melo has a SLIGHT edge on the low post, durant has a pretty good post game, and he is also a great ft shooter, like i said come talk to me when melo wins or even is a runner up on winning a scoring title, thx.... And how many playoffs had melo won? He only once was past the first round in his career, i say durants offence is more effective since his a winner

Melo ran the point foward last year like lebron does but the difference is that at least lebron knows how to pass the ball, melo running point but with no passing abilities, so if u gonna b a point forward it IS ur job to pass the ball ocasionally, and most of his offense comes from facing the rim, so yeah hes a good low post player but not the best,

And his ball handling skills are underrated and will only get better defensively over the years if he adds some bulk to the 6'11 frame.I still think ray Allen is a better shooter tho!

DeleteHands down Melo has best all around offensive game! And durants ball handling skills aren't underated, there garbage at the moment, but Wat would u expect he a tall lanky brother. He can get his shot, and get to the goal, but he look like Yao tryin to dribble the court. Jus about evry time he starts a fast break it ends in a turnover. No disrespect to him, its just cause his size. Lebron smaller and has rediculous ball skills for a guy his size. I think pau gasol has got the best handles for a BIG man.

I said Melo has the most complete offensive game, because he can bang down low and shoot from anywhere on the floor. Durant isn't in his prime yet, he hasnt even begun to learn how to use his size.

N yes James did Say that was his toughest cover, but when I see Melo play against bron I see his game elevate to a diff level that I don't see with anybody else guarding him bcuz of course, he has to play his best vs bron he went in the same draft as him n Melo has lived under bron's shadow ever since. Melo definitely best all-around offensive player on the league hands down and to comment to the angry anonymous dude Kobe only has 5 rings and its easy to score that much when your second and third options rarely want to shoot (no slight on Kobe still a great player but facts are facts ) and as far as not making teammates better its not about that KD came into league with a better situation than Melo that doesn't mean he's less of a player 1 on 1 to 11 durant could win on jumpshots Melo could won scoring 11 different ways that's what makes him a better offensive player. Oh yeah P.S. durant may have those scoring titles but one year a piece in college Melo lead his team to the chip and won it KD just scored more than everybody won nothing.
