Dwight Howard trade update

It's seeming more and more likely that Orlando Magic guard Chris Duhon will be a part of the Dwight Howard trade as well. As it currently stands, the Orlando Magic will receive 3 protected picks in future drafts but they may actually pick up a couple more picks bringing their total to 5. Fan reaction has been swift with some stating that the Magic received nothing in the deal; that was the point here, a total deconstruction of the franchise as it currently stood with a huge opportunity to rebuild the franchise in 2014 when the Orlando will be around $20 million under the cap. There will be loses but the future could be as bright as ever before for the Orlando Magic.

Ok wateva..orlando got robbed! Earl clark and duhon not great shooters but good defenders at there position. Duhon a upgrade over blake, a true pg and clark! I like this pick up because hes that guy that every team needs that can guard 3' and 4's, versitile, he might do a better job than mwp on kd. Lakers still need 1 more shooter. Dont b surprised we still get barbosa and another back up big. Guys will sign for vets minimun 2 play wit nash and dwight.
ReplyDeleteFirst i like to say YES!!! This cry baby is off my team but second i would like to say orlando are you dumb you just gave up howard for anything i know you wanted to trade him but damn you could have got something in return for him this is a bad trade
ReplyDeleteIf they have 5 picks 20 mill under cap room they can do a lot for rebuilding thats very Gud Matter of fact its Great not many teams in the rebuildin stage Get to Have 5 draft picks that prolly wont b includin their own 2 with money to Get Gud players dat can Bring them into the playoffs Quickly rebuildin usually takes 4 to 6 yrs to Get rite them I give dem 2 to 3 rite bak in it yalll magic fans will b happy in the long run you just hav to b positive bout the future a lot can come out of dis any Kentucky boy
ReplyDeleteThank you cripplez, they were going to lose Howard anyways, they dumped their 2 biggest contracts, and 5 additional picks in the next few years, I don't think the picks will be lottery picks, except theres. But they can trade up and make things happen in the draft the next few years. It's not that bad of a trade for Orlando.
DeleteThey should taken the nets deal! Lopez brooks and humpries plus 4 round picks and taking turks contract, that was way better, that new gm sucks!
ReplyDeleteJay-
Brooks n humphries are not very good, so they got more picks this way, more 1's. It may turn out worse, but u never know who they will be drafting.
DeleteWhat! Humpries is a beast! He can defend and grab rebounds! Hes strong and scrappy and can score if he has to, as for brooks hes was just a rookie last year, very explosive and atlethic, give him a couple of years and watch him develop,
DeleteJay-
We will see, last year they didn't have much talent, now there going to need to focus on just playing hard D, but lopez was statistically below average, n humphries plays with tenasity, and tapped a kardashian, but was still below average. I like lopez D, but he need to do better on the boards.
DeleteI bet the Lakers get Allen iverson.. watch
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the real A.I back, in my opinion he deserves a second chance, dude was a monster for the nba to just forget about him the way they have
DeleteI just read who orlando is getting in return, and theres noooooo way those players are better then the ones the nets offer, and plus they are still stuck with turks contract! Affalo is the best player orlando got for the trade, thats not saying much, and the round picks are way too far from now, up to 2017, come on, orlando did a terrible job in this trade, should of taken the nets deal!
ReplyDeleteJay-
It's not like it was a straight trade, he was gunna leave, they essentially dropped fat contracts, and loaded up on picks for nothing. They spread the picks out bcuz there's not a whole lot of greats, or chosen ones coming out soon, maybe they get a jabari parker, or sumone good down the road. They didn't get great players now, but they're set to rebuild, when The lakers, celtics, and heat age out, they and some other teams will be posed to step in. Who knows how it will work out in the end, but they're smart to try to rebuild at the moment when the league is controlled by a few star studded power houses.
DeleteThe point was to free up cap not get anything in return. Its to rebuild. Y'all stupid saying this is a terrible trade, new GM sucks. No he doesn't that was smart abs he still got good players
ReplyDeleteAnd not abs
Deletewell if u look at it from a positive way i guess u boys r rite. But they still past up better deal and them draft picks aint gonna b worth shit if the lakers, sixers, and nuggets do well. And i think they will.
DeleteGood point but because the received so many picks its possible for them to trade up and get a couple lottery picks including their own pick, which will likely be a high pick.
DeleteUr right preach! To think that this was a good deal for orlando it just shows how little they know about basketball, that gm wont last long, he passed on a better deal with nets, they only got 3 draft picks with this deal when with the nets they were gonna get 4 sooner picks, lopez is 3rd best center who avrege 20 10, humpries is strong and a good defender and brooks showed lots of potential and proved he can shoot, plus they were taking on turks contract, this gm is not smart at all, just go to espn.com or nba.com and listen to the expert talk about how bad orlando did in this deal, afflalo and 3 scrubs is nothing to build around...
ReplyDeleteJay-
And 2 back that up if they would have tooken the nets deal at the trade deadline they still wouldve had that money 2 work with. Hello! Lopez and humpries were free agents this summer! They both just sign with nets last month so orlando wouldve had the option 2 resign them or let them walk.
DeleteThey got 5 picks not 3, and were looking to lose big contracts, not spend money on lopez and humphries bro. Their not trying to win it all their tryin to free up cap, and get picks to rebuild. This deal was better for them than the nets deal, because of what they want long term.
DeleteJay and preach are absolutely right there's no way to justify this tragedy that happen to the orlando magic worst trade since the pau and kwame deal lol orl got nothing in return the nets deal was 10x's better than this I don't understand that gm thinking I'd rather have lopez Humphries and brooks any day at least there established enough to know what your getting instead of putting your eggs in a basket for some pick that may end up being a bust
ReplyDeleteJlew
That's to much money that is what there decision came down to M.O.N E.Y. MONEY
DeleteI don't get how no one understands that! Lol
DeleteThey couldve let lopez and hump walk n free agency this summer and just been left with brooks on a rookie contract, draft picks and cap space. Why cant u understand that? If its bout money? U wrong dude...just stop
DeleteStop hating on the magic HATER! They made the best out of a bad scenerio. The Brooklyn deal didn't work, this one sumhow did. They accomplished what they wanted to so it was good for them, u wrong in this, let it go. U actin like a.kid.
DeleteThx jlew! This was also gonna free up space for them cause they were gonna take on turks contract plus u add marshan brooks whos a sophmore this year and lopez is young, so theres ur future right there with the 4 picks to complement that, and ofcourse humpries roughness, plus i read that duhon was on that deal so it would of free up cap along with turks contract, orlando was gonna rebuild alot quicker like that. To think that orl is trying to wait untill todays stars age is ridiculous, whatbout okc their super young, clips, and even the hornets are getting better, sacramento philly and indiana are rising too, why wait, it dosent make sence,,, ive been a magic fan since 92, now ima give up on them for their stupidity! First shack and now dwight! Wow both to LA lol, forget it im moving to bk nets for years to come...lol
ReplyDeleteJay-
U gotta realize Brooklyn ended up backing out of the Howard pursuit, they didn't want to lose brooks, and it wasn't a 2 team trade, they were trying to get 3 and even 4 teams involved, it couldn't work out, which is why I figured he wouldn't get dealt, but orlando still accomplished what they set out to do. Get picks and clear out space, both turk and Richardson were over paid, didn't matter which one they dropped.
DeleteBy the way, what did the cavs get for lebron James?.... Exactly a pick, Orlando got more, and its the.same thing, we wasn't ever going to play there again. And lebron is the.best player in the league, if you wait it out and they walk, u get nothing, at least Orlando got stuff, and made caproom.
DeleteDifferent situation. Lebron and them couldve walked regardless! Riley being the genius he is worked them sign and trade deals wit cavs and other teams 2 help his own teams salary cap out and of course cavs and toronto dont want 2 b left with nuthin! Orlando owned d12 rights so it was all on them. Stop makin excuses cause u r wrong cole
DeleteOrlando didn't own him, he would have walked same as the others, at the end of the year. Ur stupid if u don't c that ur wrong, drop it
DeleteYea next year u fuckin clown! Up until next summer they owned dwights rights because of the paper he signed at the trade deadline. This boy dont know shit! Sounds like he just started watching bball all over again these past playoffs.
DeleteU don't know how to read kid, stay in school. I know when dudes contract was up, my point was he was going to.walk when it was up regardless of what they said or did. They were smart in any move gettin somethin out of him leaving. Good for the magic. Fuck u, u retarded individual.
DeleteCole ur wrong! The only reason the nets deal didnt go thru was cause orl backed up thinking they were gonna do better. Guess what they didnt, they were gonna save cap room in the nets deal cause they were gonna get rid of cap room with turk and duhon, orlando is gonna suck for the next 10 years like NY did and nets and how the clips did too,,,, im not hating on the magics but they def could of waited until jan 15 to try to engage something better,,,, and seeing howard in BK would of been tremendous!
DeleteOk cole. Spin it 2 make it howeva u want it 2 look. this dude shouldve been a politician. Lol u know u r wrong tho
DeleteOrlando got 6 players, guard Arron Afflalo and forward Al Harrington from Denver and forward Moe Harkless and center Nikola Vucevic from Philadelphia and forward Josh McRoberts and guard Christian Eyenga from the Lakers and 5 draft picks, that Is better.
DeleteTrash like ya comments on this post homie
DeleteYo at the end of the day dwight howard wont sign a extension with the lakers and will test free agency and still will play with Brooklyn nets .... netsnation
ReplyDeleteYo at the end of the day dwight howard wont sign a extension with the lakers and will test free agency and still will play with Brooklyn nets .... netsnation
ReplyDeleteWhoa that's a bold prediction, considering he has stated he would sign with LA, and the only way Brooklyn can afford him is if they trade Lopez.
DeleteUr right they got 5 picks, but those 6 players arent that good except for affalo, i would of rather take the 4 players nets was giving then those 6, so they were getting only 4 picks but they were sooner picks and they were getting better players, but whatever, whats done is done, orl will never win a championship, they traded their second best player anderson for a
Deletenobody, they gonna suck for years to come... Ima root for the nets now cause im from NY... SO GO NETS!
