Mav's Larkin returns to practice
Dallas Mavericks Rookie G Shane Larkin returned to practice Monday with no restrictions after missing all of training camp and the first week of the season after undergoing surgery in July to repair his fractured right ankle.
“I felt good out there,” Larkin said. “I don’t have my quickness out there yet, but that will come in the next couple days or so. Hopefully in the next couple weeks — next week, week and a half — I’ll be able to play....It was frustrating [not being able to play for four months] just because you get picked 18th and you want to come to Dallas and show you’re going to be able to come in and help the team....To break your ankle and not be able to do that was frustrating. But I’m getting closer now.”

Shane Larkin talks injury
Dallas Mavericks rookie G Shane Larkin has been frustrated due to having to sit and watch his teammate as he recovers from a broken right ankle. Larkin underwent surgery during the off-season and had 2 screws inserted into the ankle that he fractured once before as a freshman in high school.
"Yeah, it's frustrating," Larkin said. "But, at the same time, it's a learning experience. If you're going to play basketball, you're going to have an injury. It's much better that it happened when it did because I won't miss too much of the season. If it would've happened in-season, I would've missed probably the rest of it. I've just got to work twice as hard as I did to get here....It's not a good thing, but at the same time, you've got to get positives out of it."
