Hornets' Taylor pleads guilty....Updated

Charlotte Hornets F Jeffery Taylor pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor domestic assault and misdemeanor malicious destruction of property.  The misdemeanors carry up to 93 days in jail, but the Ingham County prosecutor said it would not object to Judge Andrea Larkin ordering Taylor placed in a probation diversion program.  The domestic assault charge could be stricken from Taylor's record if he completes his probation.

The Hornets suspended Taylor indefinitely after his arrest on September  25th.

Cunningham to sue accuser

Free Agent F Dante Cunningham plans to sue the woman (a former girlfriend) who accused him of domestic assault.  After a four month investigation authorities dropped the charges against Cunningham Tuesday which prompted his agent to state the following:

“Dante Cunningham is innocent,” agent Joel Bell said. “He plans to bring civil charges against her not only to clear his name but to show people it’s wrong to abuse an already overworked legal system...Dante is outraged that the taxpayers of Hennepin County had to pay for countless hours of attorney and police time because somebody made a false claim for their own personal interest.”

Dante Cunningham Update

The felony domestic assault charge against free agent Dante Cunningham was dropped Monday.  While speaking recently, Cunningham shared his thoughts on the ordeal after being initially accused with choking his then girlfriend in April.

"In the deepest part of my heart, I knew what happened. I knew the situation and I knew I was going to be cleared," Cunningham said. "I was hoping that all would've been done before the season ended. But God has a plan and here I am today and just ready to go forward."

"I can remember walking into the locker room at halftime and at the end of the game looking up to my right, there was a guy there," Cunningham said. "Every time he would yell, 'Cunningham I can't believe you!' You're this, you're that....It really hurt. It's just what it was at the time. It is what it is now. Here we are."
"No team is going to invest in a player that is going to jail. I understood that.....At that time, it was tough because a lot of teams had interest, but had to sit back. Now at this point, they know the truth....Right now I'm just really ecstatic and ready to move forward in life and continue to play,"

Sixers' Royce White Responds to domestic violence allegations via lawyer

Philadelphia 76ers F Royce White was recently accused of domestic violence by an old girlfriend.  It's the 3rd such case in a weeks' time against an NBA player and today Royce White issued a statement via his lawyer to address the accusation.

“Royce has seen today’s media reports that law enforcement in Texas is investigating claims of domestic violence by a terminated and disgruntled former employee of his charitable organization. Royce vehemently denies the allegations and is looking forward to a speedy and just resolution of these unfortunate and unfair claims. It is all too easy to make allegations, especially when directed at a person who is in the public eye. Royce hopes that the media will be equally attentive when these allegations ultimately are rejected.”
