Avery Bradley talks getting stronger

The Boston Celtics are in a rebuilding stage and G Avery Bradley is a huge asset for the franchise.  Recently Bradley spoke of physically growing stronger and gaining more weight.

"I can’t wait until the season starts," Bradley said. "I’ve been in the gym every single day, trying to get better, now that I can. I’m just excited, I can’t wait for the first preseason game, I can’t wait for training camp."

"I feel a lot stronger, sometimes even when I’m walking down the street in Boston people will say, 'You look a lot bigger now.' And I laugh," Bradley said. "I’ve been eating a lot different, I’ve been lifting every single day, I weigh the most I ever weighed -- like 196, that's a lot for me and I’m hoping I can stay like 188 throughout the season. I feel a lot better....Towards the end of the season, my body was kinda breaking down on me. I was getting a little sick and stuff, so I wasn’t eating. But I feel a lot better now."

Rondo talks Bradley

Soon the Celtics will receive defensive help in the form of guard Avery Bradley who's miss the start of the season with various shoulder injuries.  Backcourt mate Rajon Rondo spoke about Bradley's defensive prowess recently.

“He’s the best defensive guard in the league, hands down. Nobody else is like him....The league will see soon. Guys on other teams are already talking about him to me....A couple of guys last year had things to say,” he said. “It’s kind of funny. (Bradley) would finally get out of the game, and I would come in, and they would almost seem relieved — I don’t know if that was an insult to me, or just a credit to the defensive player that he is....We’re going to be a completely different team, just with one player coming back,”

Avery Bradley to be evaluated

According to coach Doc Rivers guard Avery Bradley has been through this before but this time could be slightly different.  Bradley exited Friday's game in the 3rd quarter due to an shoulder injury and did not return as the Celtics topped the Hawks in overtime.  Rivers has stated that Avery has dealt with shoulder slips all season and that trainers usually pop it back in once it's out.

"They tried to pop it back in, and it didn't go back in," said Rivers. "We'll evaluate him tomorrow and go from there."
