Royce White Update

NBA rookie Royce White has been absent from the Houston Rockets for the majority of the NBA season.  He's participated in a few practices but has yet to take the court for the franchise and has been away from team for a few weeks.  The situation is a tricky one as White suffers from anxiety disorder and he along with the Rockets have tried to work out a strategy that will benefit both parties.  The Rockets recently assigned White to the D-League but he refused to report for the second time this season and with no other options available  the Rockets are now prepared to begin suspending White without pay.

Royce White update

Royce White was absent for Monday's game against the Miami Heat and also missed Tuesday's practice.  It's not a secret that White suffers from anxiety issues which include the fear of flying and the Rockets were seemingly working with white to overcome those issues.  Below is the statement that Royce White released this evening concerning his situation.

"In hindsight, perhaps it was not a good idea to be open ... honest about my anxiety disorder due to the current situations at hand that involve the nature of actions from the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have been inconsistent with their agreement to proactively create a healthy and successful relationship.  Failure to meet my requests for support will end with me being unhealthy and that is not a consequence that I am willing to accept to play any sport."
