Irving to return tonight?
Cleveland Cavaliers G Kyrie Irving is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday night against the Atlanta Hawks after missing the last two game due to a bone bruise on his left knee. Irving suffered the setback on the Cavaliers' Christmas Day game against the Miami Heat.
"I wanted to play the last two games," Irving said. "It's me just putting my pride aside and resting. Against Orlando and Detroit, teams I felt like we had a great chance against, and our coaching staff didn't mind, so, just wanted to sit down and rest it."

Quick Release: Trouble at Home for James?
Reports indicate that LeBron James and teammate Kyrie Irving exchanged words after the Cleveland Cavaliers were blown out by the Portland Trail Blazers. The exchange was labeled as a healthy one but last evening's performance against the Utah Jazz by Irving could not have helped his cause. The star point guard finished with 34 points off of 23 shots and delivered 0 assists as the Cavaliers were down for the majority of the night before losing on a last second shot by Gordon Hayward.
The franchise currently sits at 1-3 however things will settle over time. Usually it takes about 20 games for teams in the NBA to gel. One thing is for certain, at this point in time Cleveland is the center of the basketball world and the team is clearly not on the same page. From Dion Waiters indicating that he isn't a catch and shoot type player to the apparent discontent of LeBron James during games and the continued ball domination of Kyrie Irving; home isn't always what it's cracked up to be.

Kyrie Irving talks Paul George
After Team USA defeated Serbia to win the FIBA World Cup of Basketball, Cleveland Cavaliers G Kyrie Irving spoke about what the win means when it comes to Paul George who suffered a terrible leg injury 6 weeks ago during an exhibition game.
"(George) has a lot to do with (the meaning of the gold)," Irving said. "This whole trip was mainly for Paul. Every single day, not taking anything for granted. It's a devastating thing that happened to one of my good friends. It's crazy, but for us to bring a gold medal back — and knowing he's going to get one — is exciting."

Irving talks leadership
The topic of being a leader has risen lately in the NBA with many young stars vowing to step up to the challenge. Cleveland Cavaliers G Kyrie Irving was the latest to do so as he spoke to the media recently.
“Everybody asks me if this is my year to be a leader … I haven’t been so far though, not at all,” Irving added. “I’ve just been a kid trying to figure it out. There’s no perfect way to be a leader, and coming in as a 19-year-old kid and having everything bearing on your shoulders, there are a lot of ups and downs. Now it’s about being the best every single day and not being afraid."

Cavs prepared to extend Irving
The Cleveland Cavaliers are prepared to offer G Kyrie Irving a 5 year contract extension valued at $80 million. The largest question at this point is whether or not Irving wants to remain in Cleveland do to the whispers all season long indicating that he doesn't. In the event that Irving does not want to remain in Cleveland, look for the Cavs to move Irving near or on the NBA's Draft.

Waiters attempts to squash Irving rumors
All season long rumors have run amuck that Dion Waiter and Kyrie Irving had been feuding. Despite both men saying repeatedly that the media reports were untrue, the rumors grew more persistent. Over the weekend Irving was very vocal about the media intrusion in his life and decision making and now Waiters has made a statement regarding the relationship of the two young players.
"On behalf of [Irving], myself, I just think we've been in so much media this year, and it's not fair to either of us," said Waiters.
"I just think, man, throughout this whole year with us two not liking each other, it's total BS. We've been friends before we even made the NBA, before any of this. I just think y'all saying we don't like playing with one another …
"Yeah, we still need to learn certain things. But I think at the end of the day, we're genuinely friends. I love him as a friend, teammate, everything. I just want everybody to know that. I don't hate this guy. I'm pretty sure he don't hate me. I know he don't hate me. I hope he don't hate me. Rome wasn't built in one day. We're still young. We're still planning to stay together. We're still working. As long as we've got great communication down, it's fine.''

Josh Gordon talks Cavs rift, Irving responds
It's a cross sports exchange that doesn't occur often but recently Josh Gordon of the Cleveland Browns confirmed rumors that theres a rift in the locker room of the Cleveland Cavaliers by stating the following:
"I talked about it with Dion. He’s my neighbor in my building so we hang out all the time. I’m aware of the rift in the locker room. That’s just alpha males and supreme athletes trying to share the spotlight.”
Irving's response:
"Guys like Josh Gordon need to stay in his sport and mind his own business. Does he still play for the Browns? I’ll continue to root for the Browns, but in terms of this stuff here, what goes on in this locker room, he needs to stay out of it."

Irving talks media "nonsense"
Cleveland Cavaliers G Kyrie Irving took to Twitter recently to vent his frustrations about the media speculation that he wants out of Cleveland. Irving can receive a max contract extension from the Cavaliers this summer if he so desires but yesterday he brought clarity to the comments that he made on Twitter.
"The barrage and little bit of attack that I saw, I've been getting it all season and I feel I definitely don't deserve it," Irving said. "It's one of those things where I can deal with it, but at a certain point, it's gotten too much. It's been like that the whole entire season."
"They're writing reports, 'Is he staying or is he going?' " Irving said. "I mean that's the last of my worries right now. It's portraying me in a light and it's bringing negativity to the team that I don't want. Our focus right now and my focus right now is winning and trying to finish out the season strong. That's where my focus has been and where it's going to stay.....For a third-year player, it's been frustrating....No other third-year player is probably going through what I'm going through right now, which has been the most frustrating part. It's just gotten to a point where I needed to say something."
"It's all nonsense to me," said Irving, who sat in front of his locker for most of the interview. "That's part of the business. I get it. It's part of the job. To go out and frame my character to something it's not. ... I'm not an attention seeker. I don't go out trying to put all these rumors out. For people that feel that it's a good thing to continue to put my name in the headlines to get reads, that's your job, but at a certain point it's got to stop."
