Wizards players injured

The Washington Wizards suffered a couple of blow today when it was found out that C Emeka Okafor will be sidelined indefinitely with a with a herniated disk in his back.  F Chris Singleton will out miss time (6-8 weeks) with a broken bone in his left foot.  The Wizards training camp is set to begin in 10 days.

Breaking News.....Bulls/Wizards talk Luol Deng trade

The Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls have had conversations about a potential deal that would send Luol Deng to the Wizards in exchange for the 3rd overall pick in Thursday's NBA draft and Emeka Okafor who would have to opt into the final year of his contract valued at $14.5 million for the trade to work.  The Bulls have no cap space and are looking to reshape their team with various trades.

Wizards stars not opting out

With team salaries decreasing league wide due to the NBA lockout of 2011, Wizards F Trevor Ariza and C Emeka Okafur have decided not to opt out of their current deals and become free agents in the off-season. In the past most players would opt out and seek a greater deal but now since there's uncertainty due to a shrinking market, the new trend is for players to stick with the guaranteed money which will be $14.5 million for Okafur and $7.7 million for Ariza next season.
