Portland Trail Blazers G Steve Blake recently indicated that despite retirement crossing his mind at time, he wants to continue to play and win an NBA Championship. Blake plans to opt in to the second year of his contract which will see him earn $2.1 million next season.
“I’ve thought about it (retirement) for sure,” Blake said. “ … I know I’m in the back stretch, that’s why it’s so important for us to be so good.”
“I want a championship really bad,” Blake said, “and I’m hoping we can get to that level. I only have a few years left to try and get it.....My body still feels pretty good… I still feel young enough to play a couple more years.”
