Heat's Cole slated to become free agent

The Miami Heat quietly let the deadline for contract extensions pass without signing newly named starting point guard Norris Cole.  Despite being thrusted in the lime light by replacing Mario Chalmers in the rotation, Cole recently indicated that both sides agreed to talk a new deal during the upcoming off-season.

"We're just focused on this season," Cole said  "Both sides agreed that it was better to wait. So it's good just to focus on this year and helping us win this year."
