In what could prove to be an underrated signing, the Miami Heat added veteran Shannon Brown during the off-season to add a scoring punch to the Heat's bench.  Not a stranger to being in such a role, Brown recently spoke of his past experiences being a back up guard.

"If you look at my career, I got a chance to back up Kobe (Bryant)," Brown said. "I just approach it every day as trying to get better. Dwyane is a great person to learn from, especially because he's been here his whole career. He has three championships here. He knows what it takes to go out there and get the job done. I watch him and see how he does things."

"I look at it as me going out and doing what I can to help the team," Brown said. "That position is tough because it's pretty much a scoring guard position. And me, I have to be a two-way player. I have to go out there, play defense and knock down open shots."
