Williams to undergo surgery

The Brooklyn Nets have announced that G Deron Williams will undergo surgery on both ankles.  During much of the past two seasons Williams has been plagued with ankle issues and the surgery is scheduled to occur next Tuesday.  Williams averaged 14.3 points and 6.1 assists on 45 percent shooting in 64 games during the regular season. In the playoffs, he averaged 14.5 points and 5.8 assists on 39.5 percent shooting in 12 games.  

"He will have a bone chip removed from his right ankle, and the left ankle will have an arthroscopic cleanout with removal of spurs from both the front and back of the ankle," team foot and ankle specialist Dr. Martin O'Malley said.
