Knicks to re-sign Tyler?

The New York Knicks are close to re-signing big Jeremy Tyler who was waived from the franchise earlier this season.  In order to make room for the signing, reports indicate that the Knicks are willing to cut Chris Smith.  With the signing almost certain to become official today, the Knicks did toy with the idea of waiting until January 5th when at that time they could sign prospects to 10-day contracts.
