Rudy Gay to be traded?

Reports indicate that Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri has explored trading F Rudy Gay. Gay, who the Raptors acquired in January of 2013, averaged 19.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 33 games with the team last season.
I think that might be better for rudy though. Not sure why they would trade him since he is likely the best player on the Raptors. havent watched him much at Toronto though so not sure where his shortcomings are
