Q. Now that you have a day of reflection about the end of the season, what are your thoughts about your time in Atlanta and what your future might hold?
A. I thought we did some good things this year. It never ends the way you want it to unless you win a championship. The last game is always tough. Especially with the way we dealt with the guys really came together. I thought we out-performed what people thought we would do so you take some pride in that. But you never want to be satisfied with just the first round of the playoffs. Mixed emotions.
Q. Did they give you any indication that they would like to see you back?
A. Yes. They said they would like to work something out so we’ll talk in July.
Q. That would be amenable to you?
A. Yes. I really enjoyed by year here in Atlanta. I enjoyed the team. I enjoyed the organization. I believe Danny Ferry is going to do some great things here. I really think he is. I think it’s a great opportunity to bring in guys who are going to play fun basketball. I know the vision that he has, you know the kind of basketball that he likes to watch. I think he is going to bring in those types of guys. I like the same basketball that he likes. I’m very open to coming back here.
Q. How soon to you begin to weigh your options?
A. You can think all you want but you can’t really do anything until July. I think right now you just take some time, reflect, see your family, heal and July we’ll see where we are at.
Q. Any travel plans this summer?
A. I live in California in the offseason. I don’t want to travel. We travel all year. I want to be in one place as long as possible. I have three brothers getting married this summer – two brothers and a brother-in-law, so there are weddings this summer. I have to do some speeches. It will be a good summer.
