Danny Ainge talks Pierce's future

Could tonight's game 6 be Celtics F Paul Pierce's last game in Boston? The Celtics have the option to buy out Paul Pierce for $5 Million which will save the franchise close to $10 million. Team President Danny Ainge recently spoke of how hard of a decision that could be in the very near future.
"What's important to understand, yeah, it's going to be hard for fans and everybody else, but as far as what's doing what's best for the Celtics, it's probably going to be very hard, too," Ainge said. "It's not a no-brainer. It's not like you get a 21-year-old All-Star player, or you get the number one pick in the draft."

Even with a healthy Rondo, the Celts are not a championship team. The Truth and KG are closer to the hof than being superstars. Time to rebuild or make a big trade or trades esp if KG retires.
ReplyDeletei disagree. i think with the right big man and everybody healthy they can still get it done but like u say u gotta give up somethin to get somethin. if i was them i would try to pick up somebody cheap like a sam dalemburt or somebody and make 1 more run at it.
DeleteWhen they lost Allen that was the end of their run imo. Terry is ok but he's streaky unless you talk shit. Sully was starting to ball and Green needs more responsibilities to see if he can get some consistency. Maybe Rondo could bring that outta him. So that's Rondo, Bradley, Green, Sullinger and a big from trading Pierce and pieces. Maybe Big Al after buying out the Truth and KG retiring.
Deletethat dont sound bad and watching pierce flat footed ass right now i cant disagree
DeleteMan since I was a kid I started watching Paul it be really hard not watching him on the court. #CelticsForLife
ReplyDeletePeople say they need to do this & do that for another run. HELLO this is the another run. It's over these guys are old & just can't do it together any more sorry father time is a bitch.
