When the story broke that Oklahoma City Thunder G Russell Westbrook would be out indefinitely due to having to undergo right knee surgery, the NBA twitterverse exploded. Houston Rockets G Patrick Beverly, who inadvertently injured Westbrook while trying to go for a steal shared his thoughts on the newly injured point guard.
“A lot of people do it throughout the league. I don’t go out to try and hurt anybody. I tried to make a play on the ball … ‘It’s an unfortunate situation. You hate to see anyone like that go out. He’s an All Star, a top-3 point guard in the NBA.’
And Beverly Later told Yahoo!Sports
"I want to go against Russell Westbrook again and battle him again," Beverley told Yahoo! Sports by phone on Friday evening. "I didn't try to hurt him, but that play was something I've tried in the past, a play that worked against the Suns earlier in the season – and it's a play that I'm going to continue to try again."

Patrick Beverly: the most hated man in the state of Oklahoma.
ReplyDeletei think shit happens for a reason. russ takes so much blame when okc loses so i see 1 or 2 things happening....either this is the begining of the end for westbrook n okc or the begining of durants dominance, or both. if they can get out the 1st round and if russ comes back fast, look out. shit like this only makes a team stronger
ReplyDeleteyou got to hate and love russ. He has to be the most explosive guard in the league. Very athletic and hard to guard. He just takes too many bad shots and bad decisions. He has to remember that hey i have the best scorer in the league and get kd more looks. Sometimes i be like how did kd even get thirty points with the westbrook show going on. But it sucks for okc fans. So many injuries
ReplyDeleteThat's why the kd westbrook combo works. Kd can still get his despite brook going nuts. They'll be fine this round but they will miss him after that. He's explosive n puts a lot of pressure on teams on both ends n they won't be able to replace that. Maybe this is the best thing for brook tho Bc okc will have a more traditional pg n offense now n he'll see how with his talent n better decisions n shot selections he can take this team to another level.
