Knicks legend doubts Melo

New York Knicks legend Bill Bradley spoke recently about Carmelo Anthony stating that he's not sure if Anthony knows what it takes to be a champion. Bradley would know as he helped the Knicks win two championships in the 70's and was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983.
"I really do believe LeBron, [Dwyane] Wade and [Chris] Bosh and [Shane] Battier, they really want to be champions more than they want individual achievements. They realize being a champion is the highest individual achievement." Has Anthony learned that yet? "He's a great offensive talent, no question," Bradley said. "I don't know him enough. I don't know if he has. I hope so. And he might already know it."

DeleteI think these less popular legends are jealous of the attention the NBA superstars get now. Back in the 70s and even the 80s, the league didn't get anywhere near the attention that it gets now(still needs more from ESPN). If Melo didn't want to win he woulda stayed in Denver and the 1st round. The juggernaunts have at least 2 allastars or hof players still playing up to standards, Heat(4), Spurs(3), Thunder(2), Clips(2(stretching with this team)). The Lakers have 4 but not the right mix but they still have a chance bc of pure talent. Melo needs another superstar that fits with him just like the top teams have. If Stat was healthy and a 20/10 guy, the Knick legends would be praising Melo.

ReplyDeleteLMAO!! Calm down everyone it's his opinion. I feel Carmelo and the knicks can win it this year if they would play D the entire game and not just in the 4th quarter. They have enough offensive fire power even with Amare out. I don't think it's a lock for my Heat at all.
