DeleteKobe= top 10 all time, top 3 scorer all time, great one on one defender, underwhelming playmaker, decent rebounder, eye of the tiger and heart of a champion BUT does not make others better, shot below 40% TWICE in the finals, was the 2nd best player on 3 championship teams and the best on 2 great championship squads.. shot 6-24 in game 7 of 2010 which Lakers somehow won. look I respect Kobe as much as anybody, primarily for being the most fearless and driven competitor out there. however basketball is a team sport and even if he was the best 1 on 1 player, his failure to play for the better of the team as opposed to himself will be what separates him from some of the other best players ever. bird magic Russel wade west lebron hakeem made others better and their teammates loved playing with them. he's benefited from a lot of hype from the media and his supporters who have at times given him 2 much credit, such as when he made 1st team defense in 09 ahead of Wade which was clearly a mistake. I'm just trying to put things in perspective, and of course no disrespect to Kobe who is a true role model for greatness when it comes to dedication.
