We've all seen the reports of Phil Jackson and the Los Angeles Lakers being close to a deal that would usher in Jackson's return as head coach. From a pure basketball perspective, do you believe that the Los Angeles Lakers could defeat the defending Western Conference Champion Oklahoma City Thunder in a 7 game series.
Yes I believe the lakers can beat OKC I'm just not a believer in that team it relies to heavily on jumpshots and to their credit they are the best jumpshooting team in the league at times but that means nothing cause the best they can shoot from out there is 45% and teams that rely on scoring at the rim can shoot at a average of 55% so if the lakers go inside yes they will win no matter who the coach is.
ReplyDeleteI dont agree with that okc may not be abject to score in the post but they have 2 of the best post defenders in the game in perkins and ibaka...I still dont think dwight is gonna make much of a difference than bynum did

Harden needed to b traded but i still think they lost there best pg. sure they can play maynor but if u do that then u taking a tabo or perk off the floor which can hurt okcs defense. Westbrook is my dude but put kobe on him the whole series and i garuntee he gonna have 3 or 4 games of 4 for 20 shooting and 5 plus turnovers.

DeleteIbaka is not a post defender at all! Ibaka gets killed by Z-Bo, Marc Gasol, Demarcus Cousins, Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Tim Duncun, Lamarcus Aldrige, and Dwight Howard and thats just in the west. Look at how many points he gives up a game against them. Ibaka gets all his blocks off someone else's man but the guy he guards kills him every night. Numbers don't lie!!! And Dude Perkins has not played good Defense since Boston traded him and broke his heart he just a waste of space out there now looking mean but soft as Charmin tissue. OKC is a great team but want win anything relying on jumpshots no one has ever did it except for Dallas.
ReplyDeleteThe Lakers want to be on top so bad it's sick, they never gave coach Brown a real change like POP said and yes Magic did have something to do with it, he needs to remember he sold his part of LA he need to worry about his fkn baseball team. I hope the Lakers get what they want and no to be mean but when play-off time comes they need a super star big injury to happen, yes I said it, I don't like wishing bad on people but you will get back what you dish out in return. and if they get Phil back and think they are going to win a championship, well they real Champs want let that happen, neither will OKC OR SAS Lakers are old let it go ass hoels... mark my words, they get Phil the injury will come and it will stop them from succeeding and No they want win this year or next 3 and if Kobe try to play till hes 40 he want make it. ReplyDeleteWow wishing injuries that's kinda low and childish look okc messed up when they let hardn go in my opinion that trade threw away they're chances of making the finals this year. If la get it together I van see them making the wcf idk if they win or not jus depends on how well and how quickly the plane takes off like I said they got bout 12 players that will be new to the triangle so it's not a walk in the park.
ReplyDeleteI cant c phil steppin n couple games already into the season and tryin to force the triangle on new players. I think hes smart enough to know u start off with pick and roll, let gasol and d12 play a little high low game and then slowly start incorporating the triangle. And 2 b honest i think phil is overrated as a coach and so is the triangle offense but phil is great at blending talent together and thats wats needed here. Forcing the triangle n off top would not b a step n that direction.

I yhink ya arguement was they should have paid harden 80 mill and u thought u proved somethin after harden had 2 great games and has looked liked shit every since. But yes for time being watching the games okc has played so far it is clear okc is missing james hardens playmaking which tfranks86 never said shit about! DeleteNo i dont think they can beat okc in 7 mainly because okc plays uptempo game, lakers are old and too slow to compete. I dont even think they can beat spurs even though duncun is old he still strong and he can ballsohard. With parker. The triangle offense will not work, because okc and spurs defense are very good.
