Iguodala talks last years in Philly

Sometimes a change in scenery is a good thing and for Andre Iguodala, being traded to Denver may have been a blessing in disguise. Iguodala spoke to the media recently about his last couple of years in Philadelphia under head coach Doug Collins.
"I haven't really enjoyed basketball a whole lot the last couple of years," Iguodala said. "Last year was a big year for us, but it was just draining for the criticism to be there every single day....So in Doug Collins' first year, I didn't shoot threes because he was, like, 'I don't want you shooting threes, I don't want that shot.' Last year, I said, 'I'm shooting it.' And what happened? Shot 38 percent from three, top-25 in the NBA from three, and I'm supposed to be a non-shooter. You put so much work in and then to be told, 'Don't do what you worked on all summer."

Damn reading that makes me wonder about bynum. I originally thought Collins might could break bynum from his childish ways but if Iggy got burnt out on Collins that fast than Im not sure if bynum and Collins can last a season together n philly
ReplyDeleteMe 2, i just dont see bynum playing well in a philly uniform
DeleteBynum will do better than Howard this year watch.
DeleteIts on him. He couldve been better than Howard but does he want it bad enough? Collins gonna test that ass thats for sure.
DeleteIf that's the case then this might end up being another Howard/Stan Van Gundy situation
ReplyDeleteAs i know doug collins is a great coach and he is the first coach of michael jordan when he's a rookie..i dont see that doug has a problem guide a player..so it must be this igudala making noise about him..some ego here what i see.
ReplyDeleteI have never liked this kids game and he ignored his coach and did what he wanted anyway. He is definitely not a team player. Its funny how he had nothing bad to say about the team or coach when they were finally winning under Collins but when the team didn't want him anymore and traded him now he dissing. Grow up every coach you ever played for told you to stop shooting 3's.
