Van Gundy responds to firing

While hitting the radio this morning, former Orlando Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy responded to some of the criticism that he faced at the hands of Magic CEO Alex Martins. Van Gundy was also upset that he was fired over the phone by Martins.
“It’s a typical lack of understanding from someone who has no sports knowledge, who has never coached or played, who has never been in a lockeroom….it’s a naivete....I think Alex’s comments are based on the fact that Dwight and maybe others didn’t like me…and thinking somehow that’s important....“I’ll take my share of the blame and management needs to take theirs....The Dwight thing was so big….in an effort, I guess, to make Dwight happy and everything else, we compromised a lot of the culture and values we had before that. It’s always a mistake when you compromise those things…everything goes South. It was no longer a team-first thing,” he said. “It was inevitable things would not go as well.”

Lil fat fuck! Can't coach for shit anyway that's why shaq got his ass out of there! Lol..
ReplyDeleteShaq got his ass out of there because he wanted to get paid you dumbass! He even said it himself! And he also said he wonders if he made a mistake when he did it. Ya he won multiple rings in LA but he didn't have the same love for the team and game that he had in Orlando. Van Gundy was a great coach but you can't coach someone who doesn't want to play for you. And management does need to own up to their end like he did.

The only reason shaq got his rings is cause mj left the game, mj was the reason for alot of superstar didnt won a ring, reggie ewing shaq payton malone stockton. If mj would of stayed retired i bet shaq and the magics would of won a couple, that team was awesome, but mj spoiled alot of players dreams, and ur right, shaq did say what if i never left, but he still dosent regret his desicion, shit he got 4 rings outside the magics
