How will the Lakers fare against Miami?
I never compare much East to West, because you have to get all the way to there. But I think Miami has three guys who are the top five in their position. I don't think they're nervous about what happened with the Lakers. They kept an eye on it for sure. But they have a better chance and have done it now. I would say Miami is still the team to beat.
What challenges do the Lakers face in winning a title?
Injuries. They're older. They're great players, but they're not the Miami Heat, where those guys are in the middle of their prime. These guys are at the end of their prime, with the exception of Dwight Howard. But all of these guys have plateaued.
That veteran experience that you cited, where does that give the Lakers an advantage in how they'll execute against the Thunder?
Steve Nash is a guy who makes shots easier. This is the first time Kobe doesn't have to play as a point guard. He'll get to play as a shooting guard. His responsibility his entire career has involved handling the basketball too much. I don't think anyone on a consistent basis got him easy shots. This is the first time they'll actually run pick and roll. When the Lakers run pick and roll, it was with Kobe Bryant. This will be the first time they can say, 'Kobe, go on the other side of the floor and not be part of it' on a consistent basis.
With the talent the Lakers have, how do they make sure as a unit they're the most efficient?
That's Steve Nash's job, which has been his job his whole career. The point guard's job is to make sure everything runs smoothly and that the ball is distributed throughout the team to the right people at the right times. That's why he's a two-time MVP. It's not because of his great athleticism. It's not because of his great shooting abilities. It's because of his great understanding on how to get everyone involved. That's why he's often led the league in assists. To me, Mike Brown has an easy job because he has a guy who already knows how to manage that.
Mike obviously was dealt a tough hand last year with a limited training camp, dealing with new players and being new. How would you compare that to this year's challenge in having to manage such a high level of talent?
He was replacing Phil Jackson with Phil Jackson's team. No one is going to look at this team as a Phil Jackson team. Mike had to run the triangle offense at times because those guys would go to it instinctively. Dwight Howard has never run the triangle. Steve Nash never ran a triangle offense. Jamison and Meeks have never run a triangle offense. So Mike has a team that doesn't fall on the crutch of Phil Jackson.
I don't think training camp [last year] was an issue. I think the personnel was. If he had this personnel last year and didn't have a training camp, he wouldn't have been complaining. He can implement the system he wants in these guys' heads and they don't already have something in their mind that works and won championships for them.
With Howard, how does he go about having a championship mind-set, rehabbing the reputation he had with Orlando and dealing with the possibility he won't be the No. 1 option?
I do think he's the No. 1 option. I don't think he has to change anything. I'm from the school of thought that great players don't change what they do. You implement what they do. Guys who can't play, you have to create a system for them and opportunities for them. Guys with great players, they are the system (laughs). Dwight Howard commands a double team. So now there is an offense once they get double teamed. What are they going to do?
With you saying Howard should be the No. 1 option, is there a particular pecking order you think the Lakers should follow?
Dwight is the No. 1 offensive option, but I don't know about a pecking order. To me, what makes a great team is no one thinks their role is less important. I don't think Steve Nash should think his role is less important because he's leading the team in assists and not scoring. I don't think Dwight should think he has a lesser role because he leads the team in rebounds, but maybe not scoring. But in terms of establishing the inside presence, that's going to be done through Dwight Howard. That's what typically wins basketball games.
Given the veteran makeup of this team, do you envision the Lakers having that mind-set in which they're not concerned about a pecking order and concerned with just running the offense correctly?
Having the ball inside will have the offense run smoothly. Kobe has played with Shaq before. Their issue was only off the court, not on the court. They won championships and looked great together. It was just guys not getting along together off the court. Being in L.A., we heard about it. If they were playing in Cleveland, we probably wouldn't have heard as much about it.
What do you make of the Lakers reportedly using the Princeton offense, mixed with pick and roll?
I'll believe it when I see it. I don't know how many NCAA championships Princeton won. I don't know if I'd go to that offense. I think they're saying they want to share the ball and that's why they're calling it that. But I don't know how many championships Princeton won.
So you are of the mind that they just should run pick and roll and they'll be fine?(laughs).
I'm doing the North Carolina, Duke and Kentucky offense. Those are the teams that won a lot of championships in the NCAA.
How do you see Pau Gasol's role evolving from last year's?
I think he'll have one of his best years because the expectation level will be changed. The expectation of what he was supposed to do and how much he was supposed to do, I thought was a little bit unwarranted. Now, 17 points for him now will be a killer 17. I think 17 was a disappointment last year, at times.
In what respects were the expectations unwarranted?
I don't think he's ever been a guy who will get 25 or 30 points a night. I thought the expectation at times from the Lakers fans was for him to dominate and have a low-post presence. That's not really his thing. If you compare it to boxing, he's not Mike Tyson where he will knock you out with one punch. He's going to jab you, do different things and counterpunch you. Sometimes you need a knockout punch and he's not a knockout punch. He's not going to end the game with 45.
What will Metta World Peace's role be?
Metta is a guy who understands. If you ask him, would you rather have 40 points or hold your man scoreless, he will say, "Hold my guy scoreless" every time. So he'll have to chase guys around. Gasol doesn't have to chase the [power forward] guys. Put Ron [Artest] on him. Or he can guard the other small forwards and shooting guard so Kobe doesn't have to guard them. Ron's always going to guard LeBron [James] when he comes to town. It's a great fit for Metta.

Finally someone with a brain! THE MIAMI HEAT ARE THE TEAM TO BEAT!!!! now I can take a drink to that!
ReplyDeleteMiami heat have it easy there in the east wich is weaker,,lakers well face better teams an gget ready for heat while heat will get confident an lose to lakers just cuz there on the weak side
DeleteSmith said that bcuz the heat just won the championship!! every team that wins the year before are most likely considered the team to beat, SO don't get your panties wet just yet! Haha. The lakers will be the team with another banner to their resume at the end of the season.just give them time to get accustomed playing with each other!
ReplyDelete1. Best center in the league
2. 2nd Best shooting guard of all time behind Jordan.
3. They have a 3 time MVP with Nash.
4. top 3 PF in the league with gasol and can pass.
5. Hard nose defender with metta, old but can still hold its own!
6. most importantly! They finally have a bench to rely on!
-Jess
I like pau gasol but he aint top 3 pf anymore
DeleteNot top 3?? I only got lamarcus Aldridge and nowitzki in front of him.. Blake Griffin and Kevin love are there but not yet,, Griffin just dunks maybe if he had a go to move and shoot that jumper more constantly. & Love has fallen in love w/that 3pt.shot. He is a ghost down low in the paint!
Delete-jess
Kevin love put up 26 and 13 how is he not top 3 i agree with you with blake griffin he just dunks
DeleteWho else can score from the wolves? Just Kevin love!! Of course he's going to average those kind of numbers.
Delete-Jess
i would still take kg over pau but did U c gasol n the gold medal game? That soft spaniard can still play
DeleteJess you make me laugh
DeleteThe only point you got right was the first one, but you just foul Dwight and watch him miss,
Kobe at his age brings the same if not less then what d.wade brings, Nash has won two MVP's not three, James has won three, James is equal to Nash when it comes to using the ball as a passer, LeBron is the best ball handler in game, gasol is no better then bosh, and watch utube see LeBron guard gasol, battier is a lock down defender, mwp is no better, battier gives u more offense, and Miami bench is suited to how they play, not how the Lakers or anyone else plays.
I fail to see your points?
If that's the case well then Dwight doesn't need to be on the floor in the last minutes, only for defense and then substitute him for Jamison on offense. Move Gasol to the C n jamison to PF. simple as that! Wade gives you as much as Kobe? Wow, you're so DISRESPECTFUL towards Kobe!! Wade Is not Kobe and will never be, even at his age. Bron is a beast, no doubt! I like him. But he doesn't shoot like Nash does. But when bron goes to the bench, what happens? Who takes over. Bosh? wade? We saw bron play the whole entire games in the playoffs and then get dehydration for that! He's the whole team passing, playmaking, rebounds and defense! Lakers have a complete team on every position! Heat lacks it.and tell me who will guard Dwight? Bosh Pittman Anthony??lol your funny!
Delete-Jess
Again you only make the Dwight scenario, first off before you call me a bandwagon supporter I am not a Miami fan, but in this present day I would take wade over Kobe, nothing against Kobe but he will be 35 and he's not getting any mobile, but thats my opinion. Nash is good but hes not great, hes not going to b any better then last year, and his numbers are inflated because phoenix play high tempo bb and all out offence, jamison is a hack, he was a hack in Washington, Cleveland and will b in la, he barley scored on Cleveland team who had no scorers and a young energetic point guard who created chances, gasol is good but I dont think he's much better if any then bosh.
DeleteDwight also is coming back from back surgery, he was a beast, it will be interesting to see if he will be as* beastly now. And Miami have four centres on there list, they cant match.Dwight defensively but like I said foul him and he will miss, a intellectually retarded monkey shoots better ft% then "superman", he is also going to have to play western conference centres who are better then eastern conference were he had no equal.
We will see if Kobe can play without being the main ball handler, which will be something new to him also, no la player has averaged more then 8 assists since la got Kobe, Nash needs the ball and will want the ball, thats who.he is.
I agree la has the better overall team, but Miami plays in the weaker eastern conference, they should cruise to 60-65 wins, they have a easier road to the finals meaning LeBron wont play as many regular season minutes as he may have to if they were in the western conference, thos allows him to be able to play every minute of every playoff game. La have to get passed some hardened playoff teams and of course okc.
It will be interesting to.see if they can make.it all work, it just annoys me when people think la have a walk in championship, hence why I made the comment.
Luke
First of all lakers never had a distributing pg on the team with kobe besides a old g. Payton so thats not kobes fault if nobody avg 8 assist???? Jamison avg 17 and 6 last year and the dude was 1 of the best players washington and g.s. Ever had n there teams history...u better go check that mans numbers. And I dont know wat game u talkin about bron guarded gasol but if it was the gold medal game I remember gasol still had a nice double double. he does his job
DeleteYeah Jamison did average well back 5-10 years ago it's just natural that there numbers, all there numbers will drop, I never said it was Kobe fault, I just was making the point that Kobe always needs the ball, while Nash is the same, prob also the same with Dwight, there all used to being the "man" I mean they could run into the same problem as Miami did un yr 1, who finishes? I mean they would b stupid not to use Kobe but is Nash or Dwight ok with that? Like wade said the hardest thing for him to do was hand that role to LeBron, n LeBron wasnt sure because it was wades team. Gasol does.do his job but does he do it better then.bosh, was my point, we all saw last year what bosh brings to Miami, he spaces everything because u need to.respect the mans jumper which is better then gasols.
DeleteNah it wasnt at Olympics type it in you tube its a Miami Lakers game, he's going ti have to do that as bosh will take Howard u think.
I am not arguing with u to see whos better, I am just giving a unbiased opinion from what I see based on today's game not based on when every player.was in there prime, la has Dwight in his back ridden prime Miami has three in there prime, its going to b a awesome finals if okc.dosnt spoil the party. I dont think Miami have much competition?
and remember the bulls had the deepest bench in the nba two years ago, alls that got them was a 4-1 ecf drubbing. La has better starters tho
Luke
Took forever to find, type in LeBron defence on pau gasol, its when the played Lakers without bosh, this may seem stupid but LeBron looks to strong for gasol??
DeleteThoughts?, could b very taxing d tho
Btw I am a phoenix fan, but also a LeBron fan which u could possibly tell lol
Luke
Miami lacks center an point guards,,they can only shoot an thats it....lakers can do more stuff wich will give us the championship.
ReplyDeletelakers all the way...kobe finally has guys as hungry and motivated as him..maybe not like him(legendary drive n skills) but this team wants to win..i kno nash does..and dwight whined his way in so he could win...la la..lakers dynasty phase 2. No need for comments or questions..other teams..jus be concerned..
ReplyDeleteSome of u laker fans are starting to sound like the heat fans that u say u despise..Bottom line a championship is no cakewalk for anybody but what kenny is saying is real u cant put la ahead of a championship miami team that has proven themselves worthy making it to the finals 2 consecutive years when this team hasnt played not 1 game not 1 practice theyve done nothing together.. La is gonna be a good team i would never try to take that away from them but lets be real they only really made a significant upgrade at the pg position i mean defensively and athletically d12 is better than drew but drew is more polished offensively and they both are immature. So what theyre making up for defensively they loose offensively now some may say well drew only averaged....and d12 avg.... pts per game but drew played in la wit wit kobe n gasol drew was a 3rd option d12 was a #1 option in orl. Thts the difference. La also upgraded theyre bench by adding jamison one and meeks but everyone else on their bench is still suspect jordan hills ok and seriously anyone who looks at miamis bench compared to la bench and says la bench is better really lacks a bball iq ill give la the rights to having a better all around starting five based on having players in each position even though miami has more talented starting 5
ReplyDeleteClint
Look! Miami heat fans are bandwagons and only talk shit bcuz they won last year. YES, its all good and gravy but seriously! The heat have a better bench than the lakers?? No way, outside of ray Allen who you got that that is worth mentioning? Battier-inconsistent offensively. Rashard Lewis-bump ass!
Delete-Jess
I hear what u saying n agree with most of it. But d12 is a huge upgrade. I think ppl r getting to caught up in the offensive bynum brings. At the end of the day defense wins championships. U can't have a 7 footer who's doesn't avg 10 or more boards a night esp in a league lacking big men N tho d12 is immature he brings it every night. U didn't know what to expect from bynum night in night out. That's huge. He was inconsistent n unreliable. D12 doesn't have that problem n that alone makes the Lakers a better team then the were last year
ReplyDeleteThank u. And I think its no question lakers have the better starting 5. I know lebrons greatness make heat fans wanna believe otherwise but mia dont even have a legit starting center on the roster. And I dont know of 1 out there for them unless they make a trade. U know lebron is a great defender but if u really think he can guard pf like gasol, kg or somebody like z bo 1 on 1 u crazy. And im will say it again the heat takin a risk n adding players similar 2 the pieces they already have and not adding a legit starting center. And if they dont win a championship this year that will b the main reason why. As far as the benches the only thing I c the heat bench has over the lakers is experienced vets. I think people are not recognizing wat jamison brings to the lakers as a strecth 4. Hes no odom but hes a much better 3 point shooter and u picture him on the floor with nash running pick and roll with either pau or d12 and then u got jamison on 1 side and kobe on the other...its gonna hard 2 defend! We still got streaky blake but I think he will b better cause we have seen him play better on other teams when he has had less pressure 2 b a true pg and make plays cause thats not wat blake do. And hill and clark u gotta remember both were high first round picks after 1 year of college. So they both r still young players and they still have plenty of room 2 improve and ive been sayin earl clarks defense will b a major factor for the lakers. If his jumper improves mwp ass mite have 2 come off the bench.
Delete^amen^
DeleteAye bruh we lakers fans and all but u gotta give chalmers a little bit more credit. Hes a good starting pg and I been high on him since he was at kansas and he did have a big game 4 n the finals.
DeleteYeah Chalmers is good.. But he's inconsistent as hell!, And gets bullied by wade and bron. lmao
Delete-Jess
Word. I hear all this talk about Miamis bench. I don't get it. Even tho ur a laker fan n biassed already haha. They got 4 to five guys on bench who play the same position. But cats only see names n go crazy. They all can't play at the same time. Ray miller battier Lewis r not ball handlers. So at best u have 2 of those guys on the floor at the same time. Maybe 3 n that's pushing it. N bron has to b on the floor during this time bc none of them can create their own shot on a reg basis. N how do u rotate them. Who goes in who comes out. Basically u play the hot hand. Meaning no set rotation. Doesn't sound good to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd it puts alot of pressure on bron, wade, and bosh. Them boys gonna have 2 play a ton of minutes and all 3 of them gonna have 2 play multiple rolls n order for them to win. Wade is older and hes gonna stay banged up thats just how it is and bosh still sumtimes gets lost n the offense. I know bron can handle it but his witnesses need 2 think about the toll thats gonna take on his body and his game as he gets older and continues 2 play more games as the heat get deeper n the playoffs year after year. Yall mite b sayin hes washed well b4 he gets 34, I wont cause I respect players as they get older. But thats just sumthin 2 think about b4 u boys already pro claim him 2 b better than mj or kobe
DeleteReally u guys have to be kidding me put lebron on the floor with cole or miller ray ud n joel anthony n u have the cleveland teams starting 5 that had the best record in the league just a few years ago..thats a good few min of rest for wade n bosh then u got chalmers wade battier bosh n whoever u wanna put out there with them for lebron to rest i mean lets be real miami is a small ball team lets accept that so what if the bench is all pretty much shooters we can mix n match our lineups and still have a starting 5 on the floor at anytime thats better than half the teams in the league. Lets not forget rashard is 6'10 as well..norris cole is gonna be better n i think thats a fair statement if yall can say blake is gonna be better i mean really?? Simply put and i said this before bcus i dont wanna take anything from the lakers they have a well built team but if our outside game comes together and we are able to space the floor the way we need to there is no team thats goonna beat us in a 7 game series but if we cant get the spacing i will give the edge to La. But our bench isnt better because of names on the roster its better because our bench is built around our style of play and the peicesfit and our bench is capable of putting up more points. Jamison is a good player but barnes aint giving you guys too many points blake aint giving too many lets look at these players for the ability to put up points because thats the purpose of the bench to come in give solidd minutes and put up points/provide a spark.....u telling me ray allen cant do that?? Miller proved he can in the finals battier proved he can lets be real like preach said they are veterans and that is true so what if they are inconsistent thats why we have so many and yes we gonna ride the hot hand every team does it. the difference is vets step up when in that moment. Having a balanced offense is a laker thing miami is commited to hard nose defense gettin out flrunning and spacing the floor in a half court set so no were not balanced in and out but thats not our identity but we have played and we know our identity so lets not get too caught up in this until la finds theirs
DeleteClint
Yea I knew that was gonna b somebody response. Mia plays small but the fact is that has not worked traditionally. I think it worked last year bcause mia didnt really commit 2 that small ball, lebron and wade drive and kick style until the pacers series. They had 2 when bosh went down and it caught the pacers off guard. I thought doc and the celtics adjusted to it well and I keep makin the point they have better pieces this comin season to defend against the heats style of play. Brooks tried 2 stick 2 wat got okc there but who knew he would get shit outa perkins and ibaka n the finals and I admit lebron deserves most of the credit. But my point is teams will b ready for that small ball shit this year. U c teams makin sure they got capable and versitile players on there roster 2 matchup small or big if they have 2. And alot of teams will copy dallas match up zone defense just like wat boston really did against them n the eastern finals with kg n the middle protecting the basket and im still trying 2 figure out why brooks didnt do the same with ibaka. and I know the heat still beat boston but hey it still went 7 games.
DeleteI think cats forget that it took Miami 7 games to close out n old beat up boston with that style of play. If ray Paul bradley were healthy we wudnt b having this convo. Let's not forget rose was out for chicago. The heat did what they had to do but the small ball drive n kick shit is not working with defensive savior teams. N if y'all heat fans don't see that y'all not paying attention.
DeleteFyi Barnes isn't with the lakers anymore Clint!!
ReplyDeleteI love how people talk shit about the Heat bench and lack of a good center...but we just won a championship WITHOUT a good center and "no depth on the bench"
ReplyDeleteNew season.
DeleteYall just won it but this season lakers can beat heat.wit d12
DeleteAnd ur right lakers can beat heat i said that but yall gotta relize heat just as capable of beating the lakers ...smh.
DeleteClint
Nobod can say what team is better, miami has no point or center but laker are alot older so idk, injuries make take a toll on the lakers, so lets see, okc to tell u the truth is the most dangerous team in the west, young fast hungry talented and now experienced, okc is the team to watch, they got a taste of the finals last season, belive me they are hungry, just like lebron did now is durant
ReplyDeleteJay-
Yes the heat won but let's not act like they had a tough road to the finals. Boston that's it n they had tons of injuries. Not taking anything away from them but it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteCome on man miami played small ball all year its just that people dont realize it because of how well they did in the finals as oppose to.the poor shooting from behind the arc the rest of the playoffs thats the only reson the pacers stood a chance and boston took us 7 games because our perimeter play was sucking which allowed defenses to pack the paint. And lets not talk about injuries because nobody was 100% and we had our share jus like everyone else from bosh having to sit half the playoffs wade playing with a bum knee and miller gettin epidural shots before and at halftime of every game anybody that watched the game saw wat kind of paiin he was in. So unless u gonna talk about injuries across the board lets not refer to it because its irrelevent. And historically small ball has won plenty of championships i mean mj won 6 playing the same way name one good center chicago had??? Luc longley?? And this was in a era where big men were relevent ....they had horace grant but bosh is no different chicago played small ball and won 6 titles so dont say it cant be done and i know yall not gonna like my comparison of mia to your beloved mj's bulls team but lets face it the build of the teams with a dominant sg sf duo with shooters around them to spread the floor horace grant---chris bosh luc longley-- joel anthony bj armstrong--chalmers steve kerr--- ray allen....the similarity of the build of the teams are undeniable granted im not comparing talent or looking for a debate on which duo is better but im talking build of the team.....small ball has worked atleast 6 times
ReplyDeleteClint
Im sorry clint but u needed 2 go watch tape of the bulls cause they damn sure didnt play small ball. Chicago always had a center on the court n the mj era. Sometimes they finished games with kukoc and rodman but rarely because like u said it was more relevant big man then. And luc longley was a much better center than joel anthony and if wasnt longley it was wennington, williams, or salley after grant left. And when they had grant they played even bigger with king and cartwright. And I repeat joel anthony is not a legit starting center. The dude didnt even get that much run n the playoffs
DeleteWord bulls didn't play small ball. N the reg season now is watered down. The small ball may have worked in reg season buy once the playoffs started n teams clamped down it didn't. N ur right Miami had injuries too I just think bosons n chicagos had a bigger impact. Either way well see if small.ball is legit or a fluke. Can't wait for season to start. Its been awhile since iv felt like this. Don't like the new trend of superstars joining forces but I im digging how the competition league wide seems to be getting better
ReplyDeletePreach having a center on the court doesnt change a teams style of play i mean lets be honest if you not throwing the ball in the post on a letting ya center or pf post up youre playing small ball and youre playing it with a disadvantage to your self at an athleticism point of view as far as the idea of small ball being to get out n run but an atvantage to yourself as far as reb and def post presense which 85% of teams in the nba take this approach. And as far as joel anthonys comparison to luc longley preach what im satlying is the talent gap between luc longley and all the other centers chicago had in comparison to the talent they played against on a night in night out basis is no different between the talent gap between joel anthony and the centers he play against on a night in night out basis with exception to d12 n drew there are no exceptionally gifted centers in the league..n thats y we can win with joel he plays d hes an offensive liability just like metta is for u guys but my man plays d give credit where credit is due. But im willing to bet half the games you will see bosh ud lbj wade n chalmers as a starting 5. N yak it wasnt that teams clamped down on it in the playoffs cus we were still getting our shots we jus werent making them we shot terrible behind the arc as a team therefore our spacing wasnt there n im willing to admit that if our shots arent falling we can easily be beaten unless lebron plays out of his mind ie game 6.. but if our shots are falling its gonna b tough for anyone to beat us...please dnt misunderstand what im saying and i will say this la if they get theyre chemistry, sa, ind bc of depth n bos if they get theyre chemistry are the only yeams that are built to b able to beat us n a 7 game series. Okc is close very close if ibaka demands the ball more and becomes a more relevant scorer.
ReplyDeleteClint.
DeleteIm not really seeing your point but it sounds like u saying just cause mj was the best player on his team and a perimeter player that means the bulls played small ball. The bulls had a legit center and pf on the court I would say 90 to 95% of the time when they had mj and pippen so how is they playing small ball? The miami heat play alot of minutes without a center on the court at all. And if u consider bosh a center thats ya opinion but I dont and bosh said he dont consider himself a center either. And I no the only thing I can give joel anthony credit for is being a decent shot blocker. Hes not a starter like longley was even b4 and after he played with mj. Athony dont rebound worth a fuck and like I said he quit gettin time n playoffs cause he was not producing. Look we both believe n our teams and there style of play but im tellin u teams will continue to attack miami from that center position cause thats there main weakness and u cant expect the samething to work every season which is why I say miami is taking a big risk not addressing the problem. But if u guys think u dont need a center....
ReplyDeleteAnd no I dont think metta is a offensive liability. I know teams r gonna leave him open but weve seen metta hit big shots and have big games thru the years.... Athony? Nope. The only weaknesses I c n the lakers is nash on d and d12 freethrow shooting n the 4th but atleast we have duhon and blake to back him up and la may can afford to take d12 off the court n the 4th because of jamison. But like I said b4 clint u make great points. I do agree with u about cole I know he will b better this year so I dont think the pg is a weakness for the heat. And I understand your arguements about ya heat but about the bulls? Nah .
DeleteYoure right metta has had big games in the past ie game 7 against boston. But not on a consistent basis n thts wat i mean by offensive liability i mean look at ya starting 5 he is the worst one offensively but his d makes up for it. As for joel we dnt expect joel to have a breakout offensive game but tht goes back to knowing ur identity haslem can very well have a breakout and with our shooters anybody can have a 15 to 20 pt night but if joel can get a full 40 min game avg 8 n8 wit 3 blks im happy with that.
DeleteClint
I dnt recall a chicago big man tht avereage more than 6 pts per game chicago was a drive and kick team ie paxon kerr kukoc bj harper chicago had two players that could create their own shot and alot of perimeter guys that could shoot. They had bigmen but they werent a big part of the offense hence they wer only there to reb playd n blk shots joel avg about 4 pts 4 reb off 20 mpg last year tht well on pace to avg 8 n 8 abt wat luc longley avgd. But remember bos did the same last yr kg played center for them but if its abt winning with or without a center if i wouldve been givin a choice between bosh or d12 i would choose bosh on that miami team because his shooting ability forces the floir to be spread because with the make of our team we need spacing .... if it aint broke dont fix it...i mean we got a young center so when it becomes a priblem in a few yrs wen wade n lbj slow down hopefully hell be ready but right now theres no point in trying to reinvent the wheel weve made it to the finals consecutive years without one obviously somethings working for us we'll b ok La will b ok
ReplyDeleteClint
That Mary Jane must be fucking good Clint!! lol bosh over D12? You want to choose an over paid player in boshwho all he is at best is a role player on that team, D12 is 3 time DEFENSIVE player of the year! Heat fans are really showing how much the lakers got better with D12 with your nonsense and stupid comments! Lol
Delete-bust it
Lol. I was gonna leave that bosh, d12 shit alone. But clint the bulls ran the triangle, and iso most of the time, yea mj was there best post player but I dont remember no drive and kick offense with the bulls. The 3 point shooters got open looks out the triangle and off of mj's greatness. The only similarities I c between the heat and mj's bulls is speed and quickness on the defensive end because they liked 2 run off turnovers 2.
DeleteSaying the bulls were a drive n kick small ball team is blasphemy. Clint u really can't believe that shit. Haha. U must've not watch many bulls game. Unfortunately as a knick fan I had to endure it. There wasn't any drive n kick. Just mj dropping buckets. The bulls always had a center. There job was to play d grab rebounds n stay out of michaels way. Legit centers. Not a pf playing center. N Im not touching bosh over d12 either. Cuz I know u don't really believe that either
ReplyDeleteIf u got wade lebron n d12 u got 3 players that predominately score in the paint it would be too simple pack the paint and offensively we would suffer...defensively yes we would be better but against those better teams that can take care of the ball n slow it down n force us into a half court offense all they would do is packthe paint its simple if u know anything about basketball...im not saying bosh is a better player but the fact that other teams have to respect bosh jumper it creatrs more space and makes him a better fit for our team because we alreasy have a good defense but bosh is not the better player yall dudes be trippin yall look at a players name and think it means something but u gotta look at what they bring to the table stregnths and weaknesses.
ReplyDeleteOk preach so when jordan got doubled and he passed the ball who did he pass it to???
DeleteLike I said the 3 point shooters got good looks off of jordans greatness! It damn sure was not no drive and kick bullshit. R u the smart guy always checkin peoples grammer? Mayb u should actually read peoples comments and stop focusing on spellin and grammer and learn sumthin about bball.
