Presti Speaks on Ibaka's signing

With this mornings' signing of Serge Ibaka, many have wondered if the OKC Thunder will have enough cap space to sign James Harden to an extension as well. Thunder President Sam Presti addressed some of those issues earlier today. Presti also indicated that the deal with Ibaka and the potential deal with Harden will be independent of one another.
"We think he's (Ibaka) important but we also think his best basketball is ahead of him....We're going to continue our conversations with James. We very much value him .. We hope he'll be with us for years moving forward"

It sounds like they want harden to play for cheap

True, any other team would see that james harden is worth more than ibaka because harden is a late game player
DeleteNC
Ibaka is worth more. Theres alot of players that play like harden but little that play like ibaka. Harden is easily replacable. Ibaka is not. Harden is the better player though
DeleteLol at all those dumb comments. They both suck. Neither one of them showed up in the Olympics or the championship
ReplyDelete^^^ comon man, that was their first finals and olympic finals experience, they were going against the best, that was a learning experience for both and thats how u become an elite player, give harden a lot of credit, he did more than others and at a young age, same for ibaka. I didnt see nash grant hill melo paul or other elite players make it to the finals, so give them credit
ReplyDeleteJay-
whoa now, harden elite? gimme a break. how is he elite? bc he averaged 16ppg off the bench. get real, hes good prlly will be better in 3 years. but this kid is no where near an elite level. just a piece of a puzzle and is easily replaced.
Deletenash paul melo are elite james harden is not. simple as that. just bc he made it to the finals doesn't mean he is elite. and those players you named melo, nash, pual- all are the best on thier team leading the rest of their team mates. harden is following in line behind durant and westbrook
DeleteListen first of all u guys need to read my comment all over again,,! I never said that he was elite, i said thats how u become an elite player, but its up to him to develope, and yeah he is a follower of durant and westbrook but u got to admit that without harden they wouldnt of made it to the finals, that kid can b a starter in any other team, as of paul nash hill(long career and nba legend) melo etc etc, my point was that they are elite players and still have yet to see the finals, harden helped his leaders to reach that goal... Please read my comments carefully b4 replying

adam morrison was in two finals, that doesn't mean he should be in the same breath as melo. that's basically what your saying any player who has been in the finals has had a better or more established carreer than melo, nash hill.I get what your saying but you did compare them all when you said those other elite players have never seen the finals. haeden deserved some credit bc yes his team got there, but he isn't responsible for making that happen
DeleteHe is on his way to elite being taught by KD give him another year or two
DeleteFirst of all melo hasnt done shit, hes not a winner, and as good as nash is he also hasnt done shit either, harden is their 3rd best player and a key factor on their success, if he wouldnt come of the bench and did his thing they wouldnt made it that far,,, melo jah! Please
DeleteJay-
This dude is really stupid he said adam morrison went to 2finals lol wow he means harden was one of the reasons they went to the finals why you tryna switch this man words up with that dumb comparison you just made

Speaking as a OKC fan we need both of them!!!It's simple w/ K.D RussWes Tha Beard and Ibaka and hopefully Perry Jones give us something then tha future is bright leggo Thunder n My Packers get em!!!
ReplyDeleteKd needs some food...westbrook needs a point gaurd...ibaka would rather get a black then make a smart play...&I harden was.no.where to be found in the championship.. bums
ReplyDeleteIbaka is,nice......wish he would of came to sacramento .. Fucc the lakers
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like tgey saying ibaka has more potential and will be the better player in the long run and if harden not willing to accept the offer tgey put on the table theyre willing to part ways but tgeyre hoping he accepts ya gotta realize its chess not checkers guards come like hot cakes but a solid big man is a rare find.

Can't teach big or athletic. U can teach wat harden does
ReplyDeleteagreed
DeleteI don't know why everybody hates on harden.. he just finished his second year. No one is asking him to be a Kobe or lebron. He averaged 16 points a game off the bench WITH Durant and west brook taking the majority of the shots. While he's on that team he will never look as good because he isn't the center point of the offense. e averaged 10.1 shots a game and had a .491 fg%. I'm not saying he's amazing. But he plays his role as well as anyone in the league. Don't hate on him for a bad series.
ReplyDeleteJohn
just finished his third year year
DeleteFuck okc is all about ma bobcats niggas 2013 champs wazzup
ReplyDeleteShit, ill take harden right now over jo johnson! Theirs not many shooting guards in the league like back then, when u had drexler jordan kobe houston iverson penny starks carter tmac etc etc... Hes not elite but he can develope to b an all star, theirs more pf then sg in the league right now. But ibaka is nice dou..
ReplyDeleteJay-
Jay-
Wow more pf than sg u stupid
DeleteName me some shooting guards besides wade and kobe, dont even say ray cause hes past his prime
DeleteJay-
Manu,Monte,tyrek,e.gordan,j Johnson, b.roy(?)oj mayo,Rudy Fernandez, thats a few lol

Former magics #1 fan from ny
Nah, those r not dominant players, maybe tyrek but those r not the type of shooting guards we had 15 years ago, as for pf u know we got stat boozer bosh duncan ibaka blake the gasols scola beasly griffin thats not mentioning kd cause his past his prime, now with derrick williams not their yet but potentially will, horford(not really a center) cousins just to mention a few, my point is that this generation is owned by PG and PF theirs not really alot of SG nor centers
DeleteJay-
So Duncan nd boozer scola to u still in prime wow again u stupid nd cousins n mark n horford are cs oh nd beasly is a sf
DeleteThe shooting guards he named now are waaaaaaaaay better then those bums back starks was decent mitch richmond decent jeff hornacek decent joe dumars is a hall of famer by default because the 2guards were so bad back then trent tucker was a bum craig ehlo is a bum penny was decent and the suns are my fav team the 2guard play was weak back then jay WEAK
