Oscar Robertson addresses comparing eras.

Members of the media caught up with NBA Legend Oscar Robertson when he visited Milwaukee and Robertson was asked about comparing eras i.e. The Dream Team vs Team USA or even players from different generations in the NBA.
"What happens today in sports – television....Some guys who never dribbled a basketball or shot a free throw or done anything at all – got a rebound – start telling you how great everybody else is. For instance, they talked about the ’92 team vs. this (2012) Olympic team, who would win. Hey, they don’t know that. I don’t know that, either. They are not going to play each other. It’s all speculation.....Anyone who’s on the screen (saying), Michael Jordan would have done this, Patrick Ewing would have done this, Charles Barkley would have done this," Robertson said. "They don’t know anything about it whatsoever. They have no idea."

Thats it? it dont hurt to give a prediction. I cant believe the media let him off the hook like that.
ReplyDeletePreach i know u gonna beat me up abt this one man but honestly i think wen it cimes to the 92 team vs 2012 team it all depends on who can control the pace of the game i think players back then skilled than players nowadays largely due to the fact of the advancement if technology now players now have so much other things that they can do to occupy themselves as a child growing up ie video games, internet etc.. and it takes away from the time spent outside working on your game like it was back in the day because there really wasnt shit else to do but also because of technology i think todays players are more athletic which is y i say it depends on the pace in a half court game the 92 team would eat 2012 for breakfast skip lunch n eat the leftovers for dinner but if it turned into a fast paced game idk the score would be alot closer but i cant say who would win but if i had to id give the edge to the 12 team only because of athleticism...dnt beat me up too bad man lol

Nah u rite, pace of the game and im bettin on magic and stockton 2 control it better than these guys today. Plus i keep sayin all 92 team would have 2 do is throw it n the post atleast every other time down the court. That slows the game down but i know with mj and others on the perimeter it might not work that way.
