Bloomberg's businessweek.com decided to conduct a study based on individual team salaries and the amount of wins per player salary that the team accumulates to see who are the smartest spenders in the NBA. The study covered the last five years and looked at who finished over .500, playoff wins, and also championships. Below is their list of the top 10 smartest spenders and I must say that there's a few surprises on the list as well as many usual suspects.
1. Lakers
2. Celtics
3. Heat
4. Magic
5. Spurs
6. Thunder
7. Mavericks
8. Hawks
9. Nuggets
10. Bulls

Ok la number 1, magic number 4 lets b honest d12 has been the magic for the last 5 years so combine number 1 with number 4 equals.....championship! Simple math...money well spent. The hawks and nuggets tho? Ive been saying for years hawks needed to break that team up but nuggets i give them a pass. Nuggets n the tougher west and g karl's teams r always tough to beat melo or no melo.
ReplyDeleteThis means nothing...Lakers n Celtics have always been on top since the beginning of the NBA....just cuz u spend smart doesn't mean u win championships.....ur only figuring in the business side of the NBA,not the heart and will of the players...money well spent, but doesn't automatically mean the players that earn that money will get rings
DeleteN the last five years lakers 2 rings, celts 1, heat 1, mavs 1. Like I said money well spent
DeleteMagics wont make that list again, they are in the verge of being the worst spenders, just by judging the way they made their trades this years and decisions starting with ryan anderson to firing the coach to hire vauhn to the dwight trade, it shows how horrible is their manegirial skills, and thats not saying the way they took on some bad contracts, arenas and carter comes to mind,
