While an unrestricted free agent, Roger Mason received attention from the Lakers, Thunder, and Bulls but it was the Hornets that were able to land Mason.
“Obviously, I felt like this presented the best opportunity for me on the court...Ultimately I have a level of excitement to come down with these young guys to play for Coach Monty Williams and to be with this organization....They reached out and let me know what type of opportunities there would be on this team,” Mason said. “The pieces are here, obviously, the young guys have to continue to get better. But everything is in place for this franchise to have success.”
