Chalmers speaks on the state of point guards

While speaking to the media recently, Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers explained that he thinks he's a top point guard in the NBA.
“Rondo's not the best, but he’s in the top five. There are a lot of great point guards in the league, Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Steve Nash. There are a lot of great guards in the NBA so for him to say he’s the best is a pretty bold statement. I’d say that I am in the front end of the top 10. [By the end of my career] if I’m not the best, than at least one of the best.”

DeleteThat list is garbage. Take kidd and walker off the list, walker good but not better than Chalmers, Evans is a sg, n I'd say he better than billups too. Chalmers isn't the best, but he's a damn good pg and player. He isn't afraid to take the big shots, he's a good shooter, can take it to the hole. And is a champion in college and pros. Everybody in pro sports strides to be the best, so when your asked that's what you say. It's called confidence. Nun of u can do what he does n did in the finals, with that pressure, stip hating!

I would say him thinking hes a top ten point gaurd and will be the best or one of them is a little much lol. The only reason he is doing what he is now is because of his help. Who knows i could be wrong. the team he is with could just be holding him back lol, but i think thats a long shot

He handles when James is on the bench. Definitely full of himself cause of the hype of his team. Nobody is hating the heat. It the truth.

I agree with both clint and jay on this 1. Im takin rondo but chalmers aint no scrub and i do like the confidence but its a couple of pg's comin off of nba benches thats better than him rite now. I told cole b talkin out his ass. Nash still top 5 pg and kidd gonna help those knicks jay. And who aint n the hamptons gettin waisted? He just fucked up n not takin a cab.

Rondo is one of the best point guards in the league now, but he got coached up he wasn't even gonna get the job till gabe pruitt got hurt he was in the shadow of the big 3 for two or three seasons then with confidence and hard work he emerged so with that said chalmers doing just as much if not more when Boston's big three was first put together a lot of these guys people are naming haven't done anything to really separate from realistically a bunch of opinions some are going into second or third year and some have flashes here or there top pg's in the league right now are Rondo, westbrook, cp3, d rose, d will, nash those other guys gotta lead a team some where or do it for more than one year chalmers is sprinkled in somewhee after that not really sure well se what he does this season but based on his postseason play which is the only thing that really matters in this leaugue puts him in top 10, again not really sure where but his playoff experience separates him him from all those other dudes yall named that haven't even sniffed the playoffs.

DeleteI'm not sure how good he is or how bad he is, he's almost in the same position Rondo was in when Boston got there big 3, I wasn't sure of Rondo skills until he emerged out of the shadows of the big 3 and made one of the Celtics big 3 irrelevant like Ray Allen, Boston still has a big 3, with KG,Paul and himself!
