Did Jeremy Lin grow cocky?

While speaking to the Mercury News Newspaper, Rockets guard Jeremy Lin admitted that at times Lin Sanity got to his head.
“If I’m being honest, in some ways, yes (Linsanity did get into his head),” Lin told this newspaper. “I fought it every day. But I think subconsciously it had its effect, everyone catering to you. People were saying only good things for so long that when people said negative stuff, it was like, ‘Whoa, what’s going on?’…
“I will always, always have doubters,” Lin said. “But I really want to reach my potential to bring glory to God. That is more motivation than haters and doubters. I want to work just as hard, give just as much, whether or not I have haters.”

ReplyDeleteI think he will be a great halfcourt distributor and scorer, but I dont think he'll score 20+ ppg like he did in that 7 game eruption. He plays bad when you pressure his ball handling. It was shown when he played against us and we assigned Norris Cole and Mario Chalmers to pressure the ball constantly.
ReplyDeleteJason Kidd said it best in my opinion. And this with the last couple of weeks when the knicks were bringing in Kidd to mentor lin. He is a high energy player but is always playing in high gear. Always playing like that will wear down your body so you won't last the game, especially when he is needed, much less a whole season. That's is what happened to him last season. Not to mention that playing games like that is pretty wreck less which resulted in an obscene amount of turnovers every game for him. Kidd said he used to play the same way but eventually found other gears and was able to be as productive if not more once he did. Lin has definite potential. We all saw it. I don't see him being an all star but with the right tuning in could see him being like a 15 and 7 guy with big games here and there.

ReplyDeleteHe had linsanity because the players gaurding lin understimated him and didnt pay attention to him. Now that the whole leugue knows about lin its bad news for jeremy. Anybody can stop this guy. Like foreal, he cant even go left!

Deletehe doesn't have a full grasp on how to handle the ball in a pressure situation, and he needs to work more on his left hand. Other than that he is pretty good, you don't average 20+ ppg and 10+ assists in an entire month by accident. Let's not forget the gamewinners he hit also. I think he'd be better working out a Lil more and playing the two.
