NBA to sell ads on jerseys?

The NBA Board of Governors will meet next month to ponder the idea of selling advertising space on the league's jerseys.  Estimates show that the league would earn an extra $31.18 in revenue for television exposure alone.  The extra revenue is a great thing for the league but consider this, star teams and franchise players would be compensated more than struggling teams and role players thus adding to the ever present feeling of the haves vs the have nots.  Mark Cuban is sold on the idea and stated the following:

"I've been trying to tell [the NBA]," Cuban said. "If someone wants to give us $10 million, I'll make it happen....If the amount's enough, David will jump up and down....He's not going to do it for $200,000 from Power Balance, but if somebody offers us $25 million, it's done.....We just have to work out the split with all the teams so everybody gets the benefits."
