Gary Payton talks "true" point guards

Hall of Famer Gary Payton recently spoke of the NBA's current point guards.  Payton feels that the league is having a shortage when it comes to the position.

“We don’t really have point guards in the NBA now. We really have (shooting) guards – and that’s a fact,” Payton said. “I think there’s only three true point guards that play like point guards. I think Chris Paul is one, I think Rajon Rondo one, and I think Tony Parker the other.”

Tim Duncan talks picture controversy

As of yet the NBA has not issued any sort of punishment for a photo taken at a Halloween party depicting Spurs players Tim Duncan and Tony Parker holding guns to the head of "NBA Official" Joey Crawford.  Tim Duncan addressed the controversial picture yesterday for the first time with the media.

‘It was a Halloween party in a private atmosphere. We were having fun. There was nothing to it. But this day and age, people want to blow things into something more than it is. Hopefully it’s gone and whatever is whatever.....You deal with it when it comes and try to take as little pictures as possible with people for that exact reason,’ Duncan said.”

More fines to come for the Spurs?

During the 2007 NBA season, Spurs forward/center Tim Duncan accused NBA official Joey Crawford of challenging him to a fight during a game which prompted the NBA to suspend Crawford for the rest of the season.  The photo emerged recently, seemingly from a Halloween party depicting Tim Duncan and Tony Parker leading a fake "Joey Crawford" to his execution.  Obviously the picture was meant to be a joke and never intended to be leaked out but we all know that NBA Commissioner David Stern has been trigger happy lately.  Don't be surprised if Duncan or Parker are disciplined for the picture.
