Popovich talks Brown

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich hired Mike Brown in 2000 and helped groom Brown into a head coach. After the Spurs won the championship in 2003, Brown left the Spurs to become the assistant head coach of the Indiana Pacers.
“Each team does what it thinks is best for the organization,” Popovich said. “They have reasons why they did it, I’m sure. But from the outside, looking in, it certainly does seem like he never had a chance to put the team together....I think that’s pretty obvious to anybody who just looks at the situation, so whatever their reasons were are their reasons. We know how volatile this business is....Mike’s not just a good friend but he’s a hell of a coach and it certainly is sad when there really wasn’t a chance to put it together there, It’s quite premature, it would seem, to any logical and objective observer.”

Coach pop has a point.... even with the coaching change I still dont see it working Howard, kobe and nash just dont fit well together to me
ReplyDeleteCrazy how mike brown got so many supporters now. I bet no i know when he was coaching lebron most cavs fans was blaming m brown for lebrons failures but now he didnt get a fair shot when every true laker fan knew he wasnt the right guy to begin with. I will b very interested to see wat m brown does with his next coaching job...if he gets another 1
ReplyDeleteI never blamed m brown in Cleveland and honestly I never felt like it was LeBron failures it wasn't lb or Mbeki it was the inability of the gmail to get players that mattered in Clevelandbut hats another story...I think pop hit the nail on the head it was very premature from an objective mind but as I sit n think about what la is trying to do I can see y they were so quick to pu'll the trigger they only have 2 yrs to get it right after that kobe s said he's done nash metta Paul n Jamison will be done so I'm guessin it's not m brown it's just a race against time
ReplyDeleteExactly.why waste time with somethin u not sure about when u know u can do better. And all i remember about brown n cleveland was him standing there with mouth open lookin lost and cavs fan screamin do somethin mike brown! While they were losin when they shouldve been screamin at somebody else but thats another story.
DeleteMy name is Big P and I say bottom line you can't go to a team that is second in winning the most championships in NBA history and lose. This is not Cleveland. Honestly I think he was thinking too much. Stop making things complicated leave Princetons offense in Princeton and let nash do what he does best and if something goes wring you have in my opinion the best player still in the league kobe bryant. If the heats coach who by the way couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag can do it you can too.
ReplyDelete5 games is not a fair chance if i recall it took the heat 10 games to mesh.. And even tho they criticized the princeton offense thats still only an opinion that it wasnt going to work cause they never gave it any time
ReplyDeletePreach keep LBJ name out of your mouth for one comment. Please!
